Purpose Statement

The Paint Creek Scenic Trail Association is organized to encourage the understanding of Paint Creek’s natural, historic, and cultural heritage, and to design and implement projects which are directed toward, among other things, (a) education of the traveling public about Paint Creek’s history and coal heritage; (b) promotion of recreational opportunities; (c) maintenance of a healthy watershed; (d) economic development through tourism; and (e) any or all lawful business for which corporations may be incorporated in West Virginia.
